It is worthwhile looking into the master of architecture degree if you are interested in becoming an architect or interested in working in the construction, property management, or real estate sector. The architecture master degree is abbreviated as M. Arch.
Architecture Education and Training
Prerequisites for the master of architecture degree will vary, as there is more than one way to obtain it. You may apply for training, after completing a five-year course to receive your Bachelor’s degree.
Once you have a Bachelor’s degree you can take a two-year course, to get your Masters. Yet, there are some students that can complete this in as little as one year when classes are taken on a full-time basis. However, students with degrees in other subjects may be able to take a three to four year program for their Master of Architecture degree.
Any architectural degree that you receive should be accredited by the NAAB, which stands for National Architectural Accrediting Board. This way you can eventually qualify to take the ARE or Architectural Registration Exam. After your first year, your studio work will be evaluated. This may determine if you can continue in the program. You also may be required to complete an architectural Master’s thesis, in order to graduate.
Some of the courses you might take include Architectural History and Theory, Computer Graphics, and Heating, Cooling, and Lighting Techniques. You also may need courses like Physical Science and Design and Restoration. Credits in courses like Office Management, may also be required.

The higher incomes are a little over $90,000 and the lowest are around $53,000 annually. Income levels may be determined by experience.
